Once Labor Day arrives, many think the days of summer are over and vacations at the Jersey Shore must wait another year until next summer. Sea Isle City New Jersey offers many options for post Labor Day Blues.
Many vacationers do not realize that the water temperature in September is almost as warm as in August and on average warmer than June. Many smart vacationers flock to the Jersey Shore after Labor Day for this reason and many more. The beaches have no crowds as compared to the summer months, the water is warm, and the prices for rental homes are anywhere from thirty to sixty percent less than a few weeks prior.
Sea Isle City’s Fall events start off on the second weekend after Labor Day with the annual Fall Family Festival Weekend. Saturday brings in thousands to enjoy the Seaside Market on the Promenade and the Food Court in the Center of Town. Here you can purchase all of your favorite goods, Flea Market style, and taste test a variety of culinary cuisines from the local restaurants and eateries. Live music keeps the atmosphere fun and active. On Sunday you can walk through years of past and view the Antique Car show or participate in the sand-sculpting contest. A trolley ride gives you the history of Sea Isle with a free-guided tour. And don’t forget that the beach is still warm and inviting.
The following weekend, usually around September 20th is the Irish Festival. Here you can enjoy Irish music, dancing, and purchase your favorite Irish memorabilia. This annual festival is located in the Center of Town at La Costa and is sponsored by La Costa and Kix-McNulty’s.
Usually held on the last weekend in September, the Baby Boomers Rock n Roll Revival is always a blast from the past. Held at La Costa on Saturday evening, this huge fundraiser is hosted by the infamous Jerry Blavat. On Sunday there is the annual Firefighters Memorial 5K Run.
October starts off with the Sea Isle Revitalization, Harborfest. This annual event takes place at 42nd place and the Bay on Saturday. Visitors are welcome to taste test their favorite foods from local restaurants. Entertainment is provided for a fun filled day at the Jersey Shore.
Halloween is always ghoulish in Sea Isle City. This Cape May County resort area is one of few that have a Halloween Parade for family fun. This event is held on the Friday evening before Halloween. After the parade, it is followed by a Promenade Dance party. Coordinating with this is the Chamber of Commerce Octoberfest, which is held on the day after the Halloween Party. Located at the Promenade and JFK Blvd., this annual event offers fun festival activities for all.
Sea Isle City is not just a summer vacation destination. Over the years it has become an off-season tourist attraction. Come to Sea Isle not only for the summer fun, but also for all it has to offer in the Fall.
